In Curacao...

This past weekend,  I hopped a long jump, skip and a hop from Las Vegas where I was at buying at Magic tradeshow, over to the Caribbean for International Swim Week Curacao, hosted by Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort and presented by Fashion Show VIP. It was absolutely incredible!! I arrived minutes before the first night of shows, was warmly welcomed by a Blue Curacao cocktail, pulled my hair up in a pony, and rushed over to the beach to see the first night of the fashion shows. The designers came from all over the world to showcase their Spring 2015 collections, which were nothing short of amazing and left me wanting some new swim wear!

The first night, after the shows we headed to the after party and had a couple more island cocktails before heading to bed. I couldn't wait until morning to check out the resort. Next morning I woke up early, went to the gym (didn't mind at all with these beach views from a treadmill!) and enjoyed a delicious breakfast, again, with these views. During the day activities, we paddle boarded, lounged by the beach, took a tour of beautiful Curacao, visited local spots, namely Sea Side Terrace, where I had the best fried snapper ever and highly recommend if you're headed to Curacao!

The trip was four days long, and three nights of fashion shows where we saw multiple designer's resort collections. My favorite part of the whole trip (aside from everything ;)) was feeling like the luckiest girl getting to stay in this beautiful resort that was everything you'd want on vacation. Service was excellent, drinks (recommend passionfruit daiquiris) were on point, the rooms and views were beyond stunning, and it was relaxation galore. I would love to go back to Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort in the near future, and recommend it while planning your next island getaway! It's only a 2.5 hour flight from Miami, so a weekend getaway is just what the doctor ordered...if you're currently snowed in, just take a look at these pics ;)

These room views!

I wore this skirt recently in an almost identical ensemble of white on white and nude heels, but it was a completely different look at the same time, as the other top was tight and cropped, and the heels were pumps- it was overall a more nightime outfit. I love textured whites, and this faux leather look worked in our cooler temps.

This poofy pink skirt has turned out to be much more versatile than I imagined. I got it to wear a couple of birthdays ago thinking it would just be a birthday outfit, but since I've worn it several times in totally different ways. I love all the colors in this one and how they play off each other against the patterns.

Right Buy

To this day my Hunter boots are one of my favorite buys amongst shoes. Since I got these a couple years ago, I've been fortunate to invest in other designer shoes, but there's something special about these Rubber boots. They are rough, yet feminine and every time I wear them I style them differently, yet always like them. Since I got mine there's been hundreds of new colors added, but I would still go with these green ones.

Second Time

gap jacket  / just fab sneakers / sugar love boutique dress / rain sunglasses / wren and glory earrings / still lipstick
I wore this dress recently, on its own with simple heel sandals, and then wore it again in Los Angeles with this jacket for cooler beach temps. I am equally a heel girl as I am a sneaker one, and I trade back and forth even during the same day..

Fashion in the Field

Usually I wear flouncy dresses and oversized hats to polo, but on this particular Sunday the temps dropped so we exchanged our dresses for boots, and it was the perfect occasion for these tassle over the knee ones. I got so many questions on what designer they were, and they are actually from just fab. If you guys aren't signed up for their monthly subscription, you're missing out! Some of my most beloved (and comfy) shoes come from there!

It's weird to think that sneakers that I would have seen just one year ago and thought were tragic, are the sneakers I can't stop wearing now. Fashion is so cyclical; you really can never say never. When Birkenstocks were first making a comeback, I wrote them off laughing to now eat my words and say I want my second pair.

two ways

jcrew keeper chambray / grey jeans / just fab heels / converse sneakers / raen sunglasses / wren and glory earrings / chic wish scarf
I wore this outfit the same day, these two different ways. Every time I go to NYC I wonder how people can dress well and wear heels and walk around all day. Then I saw my friend carry her heels in her bag and actually live in sneakers. Ever since, I've been doing the same although I don't walk nearly as much in Florida. It's still fun and relatable to all you runners in heels like myself, or cooler more relaxed chicks who live in chucks.
