This weekend I was at W Fort Lauderdale for a weekend staycation, and I had a BLAST. Friday and Saturday it was rainy, but I'm actually glad because I got to stay indoors and enjoy all the amazing features and amenities that the hotel has to offer. Friday night, I had cocktails at Living Room and loved trying all their signature mixes. My favorite was a blackberry muddle mojito drink called "The Girl Next Door." I loved Living Room because of its sexy, dim lighting and wide couch booths that you could chill at and listen to the DJ.
Saturday morning I woke up and had the most amazing brunch at Steak 954. It was honestly one of the best brunch menus I've ever tasted. My favorite item was a home made peanut butter and jelly pop tart that is as good as it sounds.
The rest of the day Saturday was a total relaxation day, with a full body massage at Bliss Spa, which was so relaxing and amazing, and a blow out and trim at Ted Gibson Salon. I was so pampered and spoiled, I was having the time of my life.
Saturday night, I went back to Steak 954 to try their dinner menu, and it was just as great as the brunch. I felt like I needed a dolly to transport me back to my room after so much indulging.
Sunday morning the sun came out, so I woke up early, had coffee in the amazing balcony of my room, took the view in and went down to the beach. While I was still on a food coma from the night before and wasn't up for yoga, I just hung out at the beach and watched the Beach Boot Camp that the hotel offers for their guests. Kinda wish I'd participated, but the ocean was so pretty that I just wanted to read a book and enjoy the view.
The rest of my Sunday was spent on the WET Deck, at the amazing glass pool that you can see from floors under. It's a rooftop pool, with ocean and city views, and a great bar and cafe, along with a DJ and relaxed atmosphere.
I had so much fun at W Fort Lauderdale, and I have to note that their staff was the MOST hospitable, friendliest, and efficient that I've ever encountered. Everything was so organized, welcoming and relaxing. I really enjoyed getting to hang out in Fort Lauderdale, which although its only 45 minutes from Miami, I never do. I was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful and calm it is there!
