Cobalt Point

This skirt by J.Crew comes in several colors now, after they launched it in black and it was a big hit. I grabbed it last season in cobalt, and I love the way it fits. Cobalt is such a phenomenal and bright color, that I chose to do it twice in out outfit, by wearing these trusted pumps.

Lips and Colors

When it comes to lipsticks, I play favorites. Stila has my favorites. Once I was introduced to their lipsticks, I put away the rest. What I like is that they go on liquid, but dry on like a lipstick and stay on all day. No smudging! These are the four colors I have been using lately.

"Fiore"   is a hot pink that I use when I am feeling playful. I like wearing it with graphic tees, and  to accentuate bright colors in my clothes.

"Patina" I use this color with olives. I like to wear bronzer, instead of blush with it. It looks good with dark colors like navy, grey, olive green and black.

"Dolce" is my go to. It's a nude shade that brings out the natural shade of my skin, and I wear it with casual clothes for an everyday look.

"Fiery" is my bright red that I save for when I'm feeling extra va va voom. I love it because it makes my smile look bigger, and it brings all the focus to it. Because It's so bright, I wing my eyeliner when I wear it, to blend in the dramatic effect.

I have noticed that the shade of your lipstick affects the radiance of your teeth. I use Crest 3D White Whitestrips for thirty minutes a day a couple times a week, and Crest 3D White toothpaste. I swear by this brand for inexpensive, at-home teeth whitening!

And speaking of beauty, I am taking the 30 Days of Beautiful Challenge by trying Clarins Double Serum for 30 days. I will be keeping you updated throughout my 30 days, to see what it does to my skin. Along the way, there are sweepstakes you can enter by snapping a photo that exemplifies beauty and sharing it on Instagram with the #30DaysofBeautiful hashtag. In my #30DaysofBeautiful photos, I will be sharing what I find beautiful. For me, those include a beach walk, natural beauty, flowers and sunrises.

Cut Off

I love a good paid of cut offs. This one has been with me for a couple years now, and the high waist compliments a crop top well. Because of the deep V of the top, I threw on a lightweight blazer, and added sneakers to balance the blazer/cut off combo.

Hair Restoration

When I went from black hair to blonde, my hair was hanging on by a thread. I thought I would have to chop it all off. As you can see, the bleach caused a major shock, and dried out my hair, causing chemical cuts, tangling, and severe dryness. I have been disciplined over the past two months, and thankfully, it has paid off, and my hair is back to good health. I had several treatments done, and I practice at-home remedies as well. I use the Theorie green tea mask three times a week, and leave it in for 30 minutes. Once a week, I use coconut oil on the ends and sleep with it on. And sometimes, I use mayonnaise and avocados as a mask. I was desperate. But it works! anything that adds protein
and moisture.

When I realized that my at-home remedies were helping, but were not severe enough to rescue my hair, I had the Cezanne treatment done. Cezanne is a 100% formaldehyde free smoothing keratin treatment. I was happy with the results, and have been following up with the rest of their products, which are sulfate free. My hair felt smoother, and easier to manage, as well as frizz free.

In addition, to add shine and smoothness, I had a gloss (article on what a gloss is) done last week. In a nutshell, it's color with protein that tones your hair without causing damage from chemicals in hair dyes. It is AMAZING. I can't say enough about what it did to my hair. It restores shine, strength, volume and moisture. I plan on having it done once a month from now on.

Please learn from my mistakes and don't shock your hair like mine was shocked. Going blonde is a process. It should take at least 6 months, and it should be done gradually. However, if you've committed the same impatience and have caused damage to your hair, there are ways to fix it! It's only hair! Like my stylist says, "honey, if all of life's problems were like hair…"

Linen Blues

The colors and fabrics in this outfit encompass Spring. I like that this can be a professional look, and also a weekend, beachy look. I love embracing the city I live in and love, and carrying that over into my style. I feel very "Miami," in linen and stripes. Wouldn't you say? ;)

Full Eyebrows {tutorial}

I was browsing through a magazine, when I ran into a close up of Miranda Kerr (my style icon), and her eyebrows struck me. I immediately wanted to shape mine just like them. Straight across, no arch, full and long. Her eyebrows are the main focus of her face, and that was what I was trying to achieve. In retrospective, maybe I should have consulted with a brow artist before plucking away, but no-patience Nicholl took the plunge with the tweezers. Thankfully, this is one of the few times such an instance turned out as planned. (unlike when I took scissors to my bangs…)

1. With my BrowGal Tweezers, I tweezed the arch out of the top of the brow, and cleaned up under. I don't wax, so I tweeze the excess hairs every couple days before filling in.

2. I have been using The BrowGal pencil (in chocolate) to fill in. First, I use the comb on the end to brush upwards to create fullness.
3. Then, I outline my brow. I create a "stencil" around it. I only fill in the inner ends and outer ends.

4. This is where I create length during my stenciling process. I draw out the pencil a little past the outer corner of my eyes, and then fill in.

5. I highlight the bottom and top of my brow. This step is everything. I didn't know the effects of highlighting until recently, and now I can't live without it.

6. Lastly, to keep your brows intact throughout the day, I use a wax pencil over them. You can also use gel. This ensures that all hairs stay in place, and that your brows look strong and fierce 24 hours.

REFINE PR {Launching}

Hi guys! I wanted to share some exciting news with you all, as you play a big role in my every day life.
A little over a year ago, I met Kristin, of Living in Color Print through blogging as we are both in Miami. After running into her in New York, she invited me to dinner a couple months following that, and I got to learn about her on a more personal level. I discovered a woman who is dedicated, organized, mature, level headed, loyal, friendly, welcoming, generous, and who shares the same faith as me. Several months went by, and over a couple brunch meetings and happy hours, we decided to put our heads together and create something we were both passionate about. Through a lot of creative sweat, REFINE PR, a full service boutique PR firm was birthed. In a nutshell, we generate awareness and create exposure for businesses in the fashion, hospitality, beauty and lifestyle industries through marketing strategy, digital outreach, event management, and social media.

I am deeply grateful for your support. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to keep up with my site. When I first began this blog, I did not expect it to become my job one day. But I don't have enough words to express how thankful I am that it has. And truthfully, it would be nothing without your encouragement through following, liking, commenting, tweeting, pinning and viewing. This community we get to be a part of is insanely awesome! I love connecting with you guys, either through traveling, emailing, instagram.. We live in a world where there is so much kindness, goodness and love, and I am reminded of that through many of you. I encourage you to keep on keeping on with whatever it is you are working on. Whether it's blogging, being a mom, working on your own business, or building a career; women around the world are clapping for you. There is nothing as powerful as unity.

Thank you for reading today! If you are a business, or know of a business looking to grow their reach and maximize their exposure, please don't hesitate to reach out! Your support is greatly appreciated!

Everyday Makeup Tutorial

I have gone through make-up and "look" changes more times than I can remember. Some of the ones I do remember, (some with tragic outcomes, others decent) are: thick liner, bottom liner, inner liner, smoky shadow, winged liner, pink blush, peach blush, bronzer… I have looked through some of my high school and college photos and felt utterly sorry for my face. Mainly when it looked bright orange, sparkly, or with raccoon eyes. While make up is an incredible beauty enhancer, it's taken me 20+ years to understand that heavy make up should be saved for special occasions.
I feel like I have finally mastered my "everyday look." It takes me about ten minutes to accomplish, it's an easy routine, it compliments my everyday outfits, and it gives me the chance to wow when I put on a full face of make up on special occasions. Something that I've embraced recently is that looking fresh and "natural" is my take on beauty.
I start with a moisturized face.
1. Then, I apply Stila CC Color Correcting Cream (I use medium). I use this cream to take some of the redness away. I have dry skin, so redness is a problem I look to correct.

2. Over the CC Color Correcting Cream, I use Stila Stay All 10-In-OneDay HD Beauty Balm which serves as a light foundation, while also protecting from the sun (SPF 30) and moisturizing the skin. I like this alternative to foundation, as it looks more natural, and keeps your skin clog free.

3. Then, I apply one swipe of blush only to the high part of the cheek bone in a small circular motion . This lifts up the bone, making your face look more refined and flushed, not blushed. I use Kat Von D Everlasting Blush in "Bellisima."

4. With one swipe of MAC Bronzing Powder (refined golden) I take the brush at an angle to the lower side of my cheek down and swipe down. This contours the face, and it photographs well.

5. I keep my eyes simple and bright. To make them look "deeper," I use white pencil on the inside and on the tear ducts.

6. I use MAKE UP FOR EVER Smoky Extravagant Mascara. Only two swipes of this, and your lashes look full, long and clumpless.

7. Stila stay all day liquid lipstick in "Dolce" is my nude / peachy lipstick.

 8. Lastly, I do my eyebrows! (which is to me, the most important process. I have created a whole post on how I do them. Coming soon!)
