My Skin Care

Proper skin care has been important to me circa 1995. My mom made me wear lotion at night and sunblock every.single.day. And I bow down to that woman. In every way, but especially for teaching me the importance of taking care of my skin. She is 50 years old (sorry mom) and her skin is flawless.

Mind you, this takes time. My night time routine takes me about twenty minutes.
Right now, I've been removing my make up with this Pond's cream. I'm not crazy about it because I don't like using tissue on my face every night (I feel like it clogs my pores, but it is much better than  harsh cleaners that have soap in them) don't use soap on your face, ever. It dries it out. Once every two or three days, I use Estee Lauder's Perfectly Clean for dry skin. It deep cleanses the make up residue. I am thinking about removing my make up with coconut oil, I just have to find some extra virgin one.

I use this Estee Lauder kit after I remove my make up. The Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex (far right) first, to even out my skin and open the pores to put on the hydrating one. Lastly, I swear by the Advanced Repair eye cream (far left). It is so good for under eye bags and dark circles, and I hope for future wrinkle prevention.

Then when I wake up, I run my face under ice cold water, it evens out the pigmentation. And before I put on my make up, I use sunblock. Every day, no exceptions. I like baby sunscreen because it doesn't have as many chemicals and it is good for sensitive skin.

Lastly, while my body is still damp, I use Elizabeth Arden's Visible Difference for body care. And I SWEAR by this stuff. Best moisturizer there ever was. It's light, not oily at all, and so hydrating. My skin completely changed after I began to use it.

So those are all my lotions. I love every one of them. They keep my skin fresh and hydrated. I know some people don't buy the more high end stuff because it is pricey, however, the investment is well worth it, and will be even more important as we age. Also, I make these purchases every December and they last me the whole year. I choose December because a lot of places like Estee Lauder, Elizabeth Arden and Chanel will have gift packages, which save you some money. Do you guys have any can't live without skin care products?

Style Sessions

Today I am linking up and co-hosting with Lauren for Style Sessions, her weekly link up, where you can link up and share anything fashion related.

Welcome to Style Sessions! I've come to absolutely adore Tuesdays, you have each made this one of the best days of the week. I always enjoy seeing your outfits and have come to see certain trends throughout the weeks. For instance, last week I noticed a distinct love of leopard print, not just from me but also many of you too! Stripes have been big and it's the same story for brights! I love that this has become like a style barometer, an easy way to see what trends people have adopted in real life. I wonder what this Style Sessions will bring?

If you're new here, I believe we all have an inner Rachel Zoe and the opportunity to share this shouldn't just be reserved for those who have a show on Bravo. Whether Vogue is your religion and WhoWhatWear your bible, or you're just a girl who likes to be confident and feel good in how you dress, this link-up is for you!

Join us every Tuesday from 4pm PST and share anything outfit or fashion related. If you coerced your spouse into doing a fashion shoot, conducted your own mirror photo fest, or are on a budget and would like to create a 'virtual outfit', we'd love to see it!

Feature As Head Stylist!
Each week, I will select one person to be featured as Head Stylist in the next Style Sessions. This is a fantastic opportunity to really showcase your style to everyone!

Be Inspired!
My vision is for this to be like one giant girls night in (or a shopaholics anonymous meeting), where we share our own unique style, favorite outfits, latest fashion loves and hopefully be inspired with new ideas!

To join Style Sessions, I ask that you please follow my blog (via Bloglovin', Email, Twitter, GFC or Facebook) and because it's good etiquette, simply provide a link to this in your post or add the button to your blog. And the more we get the word out there, the more people see your gorgeous outfit each week! So spread the news about Style Sessions and tweet!

Weekend Wear

On weekends where I know I'll be taking a stroll outside, I go as comfy as possible. Sperry's are the best walking shoes that still look cute, they form to your feet wonderfully. I love this oxford because of the color. Also, whenever I wear an oxford, or just about any long sleeve blouse, I tuck in one side, or the front of it. It just gives a slimmer fit. And I say if it has a collar, pop it.

Meet Our Head Stylist...

Introducing the lovely Nicholl from The Chiffon Diary!

I just love Nicholl's style. It's so individual, but at the same time accessible and relatable. When I first came across her blog late last year, I was an instant fan - isn't she just gorgeous?

STYLE Q&A WITH NICHOLL

What is your favorite wardrobe piece? My favorite wardrobe piece is my neon blouse. It goes with everything (weird since its neon), but I always seem to be able to pair it with anything and stand out. By standing out I mean being seen from two miles away, either way... I love it ;)

Describe your style in three words? I would describe my style as indescribable. Honestly, one day I'm wearing vans and a band shirt pretending I'm back in high school and the next day, I'm in J.Crew from head to toe and pointy heels. I like mixing it up.

Best piece of fashion advice? My best piece of advice would be to not match. I mean, please take that with a grain of salt, but the less afraid you are to fail, the more creative you will become. Mixing textures, colors, layers and patterns is what makes an outfit unique. Yes, yes... simple is best... but not always fun :)

How to do Spring Break

1. You don't have a real spring break. Because you're no longer in college. So you take a week off work.
2. Have your best friend come in town.
3. Join the herd of spring breakers who painted the town...a shade of neon drunk.
4. Dance. At every pool, street intersection, store, dance floor.
5. Do other boring things like shop and eat your weight in ice cream.

Go to Pink's Spring Break Dance Party. AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS.

Keep following written instructions on foam hearts.

Jump and throw beach balls around. Why not.

Participate in a Harlem Shake video.

Make a collage. Not before jumping in a pink bounce house. #pinkspringbreak

Dress up.

Take several of these jello courage things so you can do this...

Sing Milkshake.."my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard..."

Dress up again. And trust your better judgement that those heels are coming off. off.

Get to South Beach

The Clevelander, for specifics.

DANCE. Break the chain on your purse, have your purse fly off all while losing your phone on the dance floor so that strangers pick it up and you get a perfect chance to ask for a dancing photoshoot.

Get thrown up on. Wash off in the bathroom.

And off they came.

Spend your mornings on the beach

Play Pitbull's "Don't Stop the Party" because if you're in Miami and you're not listening to Pitbull you're in the wrong place.
Finally, ride a bike. And cry because it's all over.

White Out

Pants: F21 / Blazer: c/o Sheinside / Shirt: Express / Shoes: Anthropologie

An all white outfit is so risky. Moms, I don't recommend it. I counted six stains on the pants alone by the end of the day. All by my grown up self. I feel like there is some conspiracy against us stating that when we wear white, we will, and oh we will, spill everything. It happens when I wear blue, pink and red too. But that's besides the point.
