Colorful Fur

express jeans ℅ / Prada purse / Nordstrom shoes / J.Crew tee / sunglasses / stila lipstick / sheinside fur coat / moose and nigel necklace ℅

Over the next few weeks, I have teamed up with U by Kotex, to try a new trend each week. You can also participate by entering the Facebook contest, where you can also try the trend, and show us how it works for you, by uploading a photo of yourself, relevant to the trend, and the Glam editorial team will select the best look and reward the winner with a $100 giftcard each week, and one trip to NYC! Plus, I would love to see your take on these fun trends. This week, the trend is colorful fur. This was a tricky one for me, because I am not generally drawn to bright tops, as I feel they drown out my face. When I choose color, I leave it for the bottoms, whether it be pants or a skirt. So, to go along with this fun trend train, I kept it light and casual, and added a pop of color through my shoes, lips and bag.
I am not one to always look put together. I like to look like things just came together, with tousled hair and a chic vibe. Therefore, I wore a staple outfit of a white v-neck and distressed skinnies, and added a playful cropped fur coat and blue pumps. I added this delicate necklace by moose and nigel that I find goes with everything, and I wear it much more than any statement piece.

The Chiffon Diary x Abercrombie & Fitch

Abercrombie & Fitch ℅ dresscardiganscarf
I got a lot of compliments on this plaid mix I wore, and it was so comfy I want to wear it again. I love an outfit that feels soft and comfy, and looks relaxed and like it just fell together, which in this case, it did. This look comes to you exclusively from Abercrombie & Fitch. I walked in there recently, and was surprised to find so much I love. I used to wear A&F years ago, but had moved away from it since. However, when I was in there just a week ago, it quickly became one of my favorite stores. And here's why: their styles are so relaxed, and fit like a glove. When I say they fit well, I do not say it lightly. From their amazing-fitting jeans, to their dresses and sweaters, they feel tailored, and as far as height, they got you covered with options in short, regular and long. I also like that you can find a lot style variety in there. For instance, there are lace dresses you can wear with heels, and the comfiest embellished sweatshirts, to even the best jacquard pants that I have seen, which I am planning on snatching up on Black Friday. I love a place where you can find classics and a few hot trendy items, and A&F is just the place. Their jeans, sweaters like the one I have on, white dresses, solid button downs,  everyday tee's, and pieces that are closet staples are beautiful, have a great fit, and are affordable. And, they also have trendy items like leather pants, pattern dresses, and quilted leather skirts. There is something for every taste, and I highly recommend you swing by there, ESPECIALLY on Black Friday, as their deals are going be incredible. The deals will start at 8pm on Thursday, November 28th, in-store and online. Whether you're already an A&F shopper, or haven't visited in a while, I promise they are worth your time, just look at that scarf I have on! ;)

White and Red

This shop is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and People StyleWatch and InStyle magazines but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #PeopleInStyle http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO

While shopping for some Christmas lights and ornaments at Target, I picked up the December issues of InStyle and People Style Watch magazines, and I received a $5 Target giftcard for buying them together, score! These two are my go to's in magazines because they provide the most outfit inspiration. There was a spread in InStyle about wearing red with white. I know nowadays, the white after labor day rule is a thing of the past, but it still feels a bit out of sorts. However, seeing it laid out so pretty on the magazine gave me inspiration to try it out. I already owned a pair of white jeans and a white top, and I have this red coat, which was waiting to be worn. Though initially hesitant, once I put it all together, I felt quite confident in my winter white ensemble, with a statement coat.
There were several other trends in the magazine that I was inspired by. I love all black, and there is a chic way to wear it in there, and I also love the "i love my…" celebrity spread. In this issue, Olivia Palermo wore her blue pumps with five different looks, and it opened my eyes to see just how versatile a pair of colorful pumps can be. Even more so than a pair or classic black ones.
I will be stuffing all my girlfriend's stockings with an issue of InStyle, or People Style Watch, because not only are they great entertainment reads, fabulous fashion, beauty, and hair inspiration, but, if you purchase both of these magazines together at Target, you will receive a $5 Target gift card, making them almost free! This promotion starts 11/29-12/7.
Are there any looks you have been wanting to try? This time, I think this look worked for me, even with the all white, but other times it may not, and that's okay! No harm done when experimenting.

Riding Boots + Ariat Giveaway

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Ariat.

Ariat boots  / express skirt / j.crew shirt  / ray ban / hat / madewell jacket / stila lipstick

When choosing these boots, I wasn't sure how I felt about black and brown together, but I loved the riding style of the boot, so I went for it. When I first wore them, I compared them to my all black riding boots, and I was surprised to see how much better the color block looked. I haven't stopped wearing them since. These boots come from a brand named Ariat, which is an American shoe brand with an equestrian heritage that beautifully seeps into their designs. The comfort is unparalleled, and they feel totally different from non-boot specialized retailers. When I put them on, they felt like they formed to my foot. A good pair of boots is a closet staple, and these are mine. I can wear them with black, and tan, and the riding style is a classic that won't get old. They are easy to style, and complimentary to a lot of looks, from a laid back outdoors look with jeans, black skinnies, to a dress and cardigan, or a classic black and white look like mine. While heels are great, nothing compares to a pair of boots that are made for walkin' :)

On Ariats Facebook page, you can find a giveaway  open Nov 18-27, where you can enter for a chance to win:
  • One winner will receive a product of their choice from Ariat.com.
  • Three winners will receive a pair of Ariat boots of their choice.
  • Two winners will receive a pair of Ariat jeans of their choice.

J.Crew Look A Like

J.Crew sweater , ballcap & necklace / skirt / shoes / sunglasses / Prada purse
When my mom saw this outfit, she said, "is that the style now? ball caps and skirts?" why, yes mom, that is indeed the "style," according to J.Crew anyway. From my days of working at J.Crew, I was able to stock up my closet with a lot of their staples, including this tipi sweater, necklace and ball cap. And I thought, why not go for a "out of the catalog" look? They do laid back/dressed up combos so well,  I thought I'd give it a try and do my own take on the subject; and this is what I came up with. Ta-da.

Oversized Ruffles

Marshalls skirt / Kohls booties / Prada purse / Mac lipstick / Asos shirt ℅

You guys….this shirt. I saw it, and didn't hesitate for one second. I knew it was for me. Usually, when I shop, I rely heavily on my sixth sense. I just know…A lot of things, I will like, even love, but I won't feel like they are for me. Especially with trendy items, I often think about them twice. I like to evaluate the cost per wear when making a decision. And usually, I will go with not-so-notorious pieces, so I can style them broadly. This top however, is very notorious, with the exaggerated ruffled neckline, and it made no difference to me. I could just live in it. It speaks glamour and uniqueness! Don't you agree?

more ruffles…

tom boy

Topshop boyfriend jeans / Oasap bag / beanie / C.C. Lake jacket ℅ / Steve Madden sneakers / Ray Ban aviators / Stila lips

This is one of my tom boy looks, with my wedge sneakers, boyfriend jeans, military jacket and beanie. I felt so comfortable and relaxed in this getup, I didn't wanna take it off. I find it interesting that an outfit like this, and an outfit of heels and a skirt, can both still feel so "me." But I guess that's the beauty of style, its undefined. Do you gear more towards tom boy or ultra feminine? I find that I am both at the drop of a pin.

work wear

Lauren Conrad at Kohls blazer ℅  / Simply Vera Wang at Kohls booties ℅ / J.Crew Minnie pants / J.Crew blouse / Prada purse / sunglasses / Stila liquid lipstick

I wore this to a work meeting, where I wanted to look simple, yet dressed to be taken seriously. I am a firm believer that dressing well is part of your resume. When I went to interviews, straight out of college, I would wonder what to wear, and often went from an unflattering suit, to a dress and never really hit a good balance. Now, I see that you can incorporate your daily style into a professional setting, by choosing neutral colors, wearing a lot of black, (good thing it's my favorite color), and adding edgy touches, in my case, these booties. My new favorites from Vera Wang's line at Kohls. I bought this LC blazer there too, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it is a one stop shop for the whole family, when shopping for Christmas gifts. I love their brand variety!

With the end of November quickly approaching, it's time to get excited about the holidays and of course, Black Friday!
