On Rapunzel..

     Last winter to now..{8 months}

     It grows pretty fast

Here's how:

1. Use a good brush. This is so important. I didn't know the significance of this until my hair was getting so tangled, and my cheap plastic brush just caused more breakage. I switched to a boar bristle one. Mind. Blown.

I use Conair, gel grip, large boar bristlehere

2. Take vitamins. For me, prenatal does the trick.

3.Massage your scalp. This is how your scalp gets circulation and circulation is what makes your hair grow! For example, when you get cold..hair on legs...yes, grows. Massaging your scalp gives you chills and makes your hair...grow!

4. Pull your hair. Yes, literally, pull on it, not gently, but as to cause a little bit of pain. A hairstylist told me this one, and I never went back. It so works.

5. Don't wash it everyday. The oils that make your hair greasy are what nourish your scalp..so get some dry shampoo and put it in a bun. Now you know, when you see my hair in a bun..I probably haven't washed it in three days.

6. Olive oil and an egg. Put it in a bowl, mix it up, put it on all over your hair for 30 minutes and then rinse. (oh, and stay away from people, it smells) But on the up side, makes your hair shine like no other. I do this every few weeks.

Tomorrow I will be showing you how I curl my hair as I've gotten some inquiries from y'all and it takes me all of ten minutes.

Now I'm going back to bed because I have mono. YAY.

  3. Oh my gosh thank you! I am dying to get my hair as long as yours and I keep having to trim it once it gets to mid-back. I love the olive oil/egg idea and never thought to pull on it! I take a multivitamin but might switch to prenatal too (God forbid the Hubbs find those lying around lol!).

  9. Ooohh I can't wait to hear how you do your hair. I was just thinking that exact thing. And mono?? Don't mess with it. Get as much rest as possible and don't push yourself. I had it once and couldn't believe how hard it hit me.

  10. I love massaging and pulling my hair = feels *so* good! I'll have to try the egg+ olive oil trick. I have coarse curly hair, here's hoping that makes it a little softer!

  12. It also helps to get regular trims. I never did that for the longest time but as soon as I started, my hair actually grew. Weird! I love head massages too! I have one of those head trips. LOVE it.

  13. Bring on the hair curling! I'm trying to find something that doesn't take 30 min to do (my hair comes down to my waist).
The hair pulling...my friend who's a hair stylist suggested that too.

  16. My hair is long, but NOT long enough for me. I love having hair down to my bellybutton. HAHA. I used to take Biotin, but didn't take it for very long. I wanted to do one of those at home hair masks/conditioner things, but my hubby talked me out of it. He said it was weird and gross. What do boys know!

  19. Even though my hair is crazy long (well, I guess as long as yours) I think the longer it is, the longer I want it. I keep a plastic scalp massager in the shower that I use to help lather my shampoo. I've done the egg thing, just not the olive oil. Thanks for the tips!

  22. I used to LOVE those scalp things. They always had them at the boots in the mall and I definitely always tried them out. I now realize how disgusting that is. But hey I've never had lice. Great post!

  23. ive tried the olive oil and egg thing before but i hate how your hair stinks even after. do you wash it with shampoo or anything after, because i read just to rinse. i couldn't stand that it smelled so bad :( i do like the brush recommendation. i may look into that because my hair breaks SO bad.

  24. Head and Shoulders shampoo always makes my hair grow like crazy! Not sure why, but even my stylist noticed! Problem is, that it also takes your color out, so use with caution!

  44. Thank you for writing this post! I have been trying to get my hair to grow from the one stinking length it stays at, forever!! I started taking Biotin and prenatals a few months ago as well as only washing it 2-3 times a week. It seems to be working so far! I've also been putting coconut oil in it for about 30 minutes before I wash it once a week or so. I'll have to give the olive oil and egg treatment a try though!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I started following ya awhile back and love to read your blog! :-)
